that search may be made in the book of the records of your fathers. And you will find in the book of the records and know that this city [is] a rebellious city, harmful to kings and provinces, and that they have incited sedition within the city in former times, for which cause this city was destroyed.

And I gave the command, and a search has been made, and it was found that this city in former times has revolted against kings, and rebellion and sedition have been fostered in it.

Now therefore, if [it seems] good to the king, let a search be made in the king's treasure house, which [is] there in Babylon, whether it is [so] that a decree was issued by King Cyrus to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send us his pleasure concerning this [matter.]

I [was] a father to the poor, And I searched out the case [that] I did not know.

[It is] the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings [is] to search out a matter.

Then I said, "Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book [it is] written of me.

"Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.

Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote on a scroll of a book, at the instruction of Jeremiah, all the words of the LORD which He had spoken to him.

And they went to the king, into the court; but they stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the hearing of the king.

Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with [a fire] burning on the hearth before him.

Now when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me; and behold, a scroll of a book [was] in it.

Moreover He said to me, "Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel."

And I saw in the right [hand] of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.
