"And He will give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned and who made Israel sin."

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin by which he had made Israel sin.

Moreover Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin by which he made Judah sin, in doing evil in the sight of the LORD.

Nevertheless the LORD did not turn from the fierceness of His great wrath, with which His anger was aroused against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked Him.

Surely at the commandment of the LORD [this] came upon Judah, to remove [them] from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done,

and also because of the innocent blood that he had shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, which the LORD would not pardon.

If a ruler pays attention to lies, All his servants [become] wicked.

For the statutes of Omri are kept; All the works of Ahab's house [are done;] And you walk in their counsels, That I may make you a desolation, And your inhabitants a hissing. Therefore you shall bear the reproach of My people."

But he did evil in the sight of the LORD, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

But they paid no attention, and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

"Because Manasseh king of Judah has done these abominations (he has acted more wickedly than all the Amorites who [were] before him, and has also made Judah sin with his idols),

"You [are] your mother's daughter, loathing husband and children; and you [are] the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children; your mother [was] a Hittite and your father an Amorite.

"You did not walk in their ways nor act according to their abominations; but, as [if that were] too little, you became more corrupt than they in all your ways.

' Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you.

a people as great and numerous and tall as the Anakim. But the LORD destroyed them before them, and they dispossessed them and dwelt in their place,

'And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, who dwelt on the other side of the Jordan, and they fought with you. But I gave them into your hand, that you might possess their land, and I destroyed them from before you.

and had walked in the statutes of the nations whom the LORD had cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.

They set up for themselves [sacred] pillars and wooden images on every high hill and under every green tree.
