He was thirty-two years old when he became king. He reigned in Jerusalem eight years and, to no one's sorrow, departed. However they buried him in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

So Uzziah rested with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which [belonged] to the kings, for they said, "He is a leper." Then Jotham his son reigned in his place.

So Manasseh rested with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house. Then his son Amon reigned in his place.

"Therefore the LORD God of Israel says: 'I said indeed [that] your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.' But now the LORD says: 'Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.

The memory of the righteous [is] blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot.
