Then he took the captains of hundreds, the nobles, the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought the king down from the house of the LORD; and they went through the Upper Gate to the king's house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.

Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that [were] in the high gate of Benjamin, which [was] by the house of the LORD.

After this he built a wall outside the City of David on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, as far as the entrance of the Fish Gate; and [it] enclosed Ophel, and he raised it to a very great height. Then he put military captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.

Moreover the Nethinim who dwelt in Ophel [made repairs] as far as [the place] in front of the Water Gate toward the east, and on the projecting tower.

After them the Tekoites repaired another section, next to the great projecting tower, and as far as the wall of Ophel.
