The sons of Jehieli, Zetham and Joel his brother, [were] over the treasuries of the house of the LORD.

For in this trusted office [were] four chief gatekeepers; they were Levites. And they had charge over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.

Now [some] of them were in charge of the serving vessels, for they brought them in and took them out by count.

And [some] of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.

And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates and for the joints, and bronze in abundance beyond measure,

and cedar trees in abundance; for the Sidonians and those from Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

"Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.

"Of gold and silver and bronze and iron [there is] no limit. Arise and begin working, and the LORD be with you."

and the plans for all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, of all the chambers all around, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries for the dedicated things;

[He gave] gold by weight for [things] of gold, for all articles used in every kind of service; also [silver] for all articles of silver by weight, for all articles used in every kind of service;

And by weight [he gave] gold for the tables of the showbread, for each table, and silver for the tables of silver;

and refined gold by weight for the altar of incense, and for the construction of the chariot, that is, the gold cherubim that spread [their wings] and overshadowed the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

"Now for the house of my God I have prepared with all my might: gold for [things to be made of] gold, silver for [things of] silver, bronze for [things of] bronze, iron for [things of] iron, wood for [things of] wood, onyx stones, [stones] to be set, glistening stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and marble slabs in abundance.

"three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses;

Then the leaders of the fathers' [houses,] leaders of the tribes of Israel, the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the officers over the king's work, offered willingly.

And whoever had [precious] stones gave [them] to the treasury of the house of the LORD, into the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took away everything. He also took away all the gold shields which Solomon had made.

Then Asa took all the silver and gold [that was] left in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the treasuries of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-Hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this," Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you [such] blessing That [there will] not [be room] enough [to receive it.]

This Shelomith and his brethren [were] over all the treasuries of the dedicated things which King David and the heads of fathers' [houses,] the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the army, had dedicated.

And all that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, every dedicated [thing,] was under the hand of Shelomith and his brethren.

King David also dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold that he had brought from all [these] nations -- from Edom, from Moab, from the people of Ammon, from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the LORD was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.

Now Hezekiah commanded [them] to prepare rooms in the house of the LORD, and they prepared them.

Then they faithfully brought in the offerings, the tithes, and the dedicated things; Cononiah the Levite had charge of them, and Shimei his brother [was] the next.
