"Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.

Of the Levites, Ahijah [was] over the treasuries of the house of God and over the treasuries of the dedicated things.

This Shelomith and his brethren [were] over all the treasuries of the dedicated things which King David and the heads of fathers' [houses,] the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the army, had dedicated.

Some of the spoils won in battles they dedicated to maintain the house of the LORD.

But who [am] I, and who [are] my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things [come] from You, And of Your own we have given You.

'Take from among you an offering to the LORD. Whoever [is] of a willing heart, let him bring it as an offering to the LORD: gold, silver, and bronze;

Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing, [and] they brought the LORD's offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service, and for the holy garments.

And every man, with whom was found blue, purple, and scarlet [thread,] fine linen, and goats' [hair,] red skins of rams, and badger skins, brought [them.]

"But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, [are] consecrated to the LORD; they shall come into the treasury of the LORD."

King David also dedicated these to the LORD, along with the silver and gold that he had dedicated from all the nations which he had subdued --

from Syria, from Moab, from the people of Ammon, from the Philistines, from Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

So all the work that King Solomon had done for the house of the LORD was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and the furnishings. He put them in the treasuries of the house of the LORD.

And Jehoash king of Judah took all the sacred things that his fathers, Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own sacred things, and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and in the king's house, and sent [them] to Hazael king of Syria. Then he went away from Jerusalem.

So all the work that Solomon had done for the house of the LORD was finished; and Solomon brought in the things which his father David had dedicated: the silver and the gold and all the furnishings. And he put [them] in the treasuries of the house of God.

"Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion; For I will make your horn iron, And I will make your hooves bronze; You shall beat in pieces many peoples; I will consecrate their gain to the LORD, And their substance to the Lord of the whole earth."

It happened in the spring of the year, at the time kings go out [to battle,] that Joab led out the armed forces and ravaged the country of the people of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. And Joab defeated Rabbah and overthrew it.

Then David took their king's crown from his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and [there were] precious stones in it. And it was set on David's head. Also he brought out the spoil of the city in great abundance.

And David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites, and the Amalekites. For those nations were the inhabitants of the land from of old, as you go to Shur, even as far as the land of Egypt.

Whenever David attacked the land, he left neither man nor woman alive, but took away the sheep, the oxen, the donkeys, the camels, and the apparel, and returned and came to Achish.

Then David said to him, "To whom do you [belong,] and where [are] you from?" And he said, "I [am] a young man from Egypt, servant of an Amalekite; and my master left me behind, because three days ago I fell sick.

Then David took all the flocks and herds they had driven before those [other] livestock, and said, "This [is] David's spoil."
