Benaiah and Jahaziel the priests regularly [blew] the trumpets before the ark of the covenant of God.

"The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and these shall be to you as an ordinance forever throughout your generations.

and the Levites [who were] the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets --

indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers [were] as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, [saying:] "[For He is] good, For His mercy [endures] forever," that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud,

"Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways!

Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the LORD is coming, For it is at hand:

Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly;

and with them their brethren of the second [rank:] Zechariah, Ben, Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Elipheleh, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel, the gatekeepers;

Berechiah and Elkanah [were] doorkeepers for the ark;
