Then they rose up early in the morning, and the sun was shining on the water; and the Moabites saw the water on the other side [as] red as blood.

And they said, "This is blood; the kings have surely struck swords and have killed one another; now therefore, Moab, to the spoil!"

Then they destroyed the cities, and each man threw a stone on every good piece of land and filled it; and they stopped up all the springs of water and cut down all the good trees. But they left the stones of Kir Haraseth [intact.] However the slingers surrounded and attacked it.

Then he took his eldest son who would have reigned in his place, and offered him [as] a burnt offering upon the wall; and there was great indignation against Israel. So they departed from him and returned to [their own] land.

"Surely I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumor and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land." ' "

"And it shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then you shall advance quickly. For then the LORD will go out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines."

Dreadful sounds [are] in his ears; In prosperity the destroyer comes upon him.

There they are in great fear, For God [is] with the generation of the righteous.

And it happened on the next day that Pashhur brought Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him, "The LORD has not called your name Pashhur, but Magor-Missabib.

"For thus says the LORD: 'Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends; and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes shall see [it.] I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive to Babylon and slay them with the sword.

And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard [even] in the outer court, like the voice of Almighty God when He speaks.

And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,

and said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!

And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings [was] like the sound of chariots with many horses running into battle.

Now a chariot that was imported from Egypt cost six hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse one hundred and fifty; and thus, through their agents, they exported [them] to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.

And it happened in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, [that] Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the LORD,

with twelve hundred chariots, sixty thousand horsemen, and people without number who came with him out of Egypt -- the Lubim and the Sukkiim and the Ethiopians.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, [And] rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because [they are] many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the LORD!

"How then will you repel one captain of the least of my master's servants, and put your trust in Egypt for chariots and horsemen?
