"And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian."

Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there [was] a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food.

And the LORD gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses [was] very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants and in the sight of the people.

For Mordecai [was] great in the king's palace, and his fame spread throughout all the provinces; for this man Mordecai became increasingly prominent.

For Mordecai the Jew [was] second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his countrymen.

The horse [is] prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance [is] of the LORD.

" Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger And the staff in whose hand is My indignation.

I will send him against an ungodly nation, And against the people of My wrath I will give him charge, To seize the spoil, to take the prey, And to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

'I have made the earth, the man and the beast that [are] on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.

'And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and the beasts of the field I have also given him to serve him.

"Only you did not go near the land of the people of Ammon -- anywhere along the River Jabbok, or to the cities of the mountains, or wherever the LORD our God had forbidden us.

Jesus answered, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin."

For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not accomplished through me, in word and deed, to make the Gentiles obedient --

"Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever." And he went out from his presence leprous, [as white] as snow.

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, "Why are we sitting here until we die?

"When a man has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes on the skin of his body [like] a leprous sore, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.

"The priest shall examine the sore on the skin of the body; and if the hair on the sore has turned white, and the sore appears [to be] deeper than the skin of his body, it [is] a leprous sore. Then the priest shall examine him, and pronounce him unclean.

"he is a leprous man. He [is] unclean. The priest shall surely pronounce him unclean; his sore [is] on his head.

"He shall be unclean. All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He [is] unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling [shall be] outside the camp.

And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam [became] leprous, as [white as] snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper.

"Please do not let her be as one dead, whose flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb!"

"Let it rest on the head of Joab and on all his father's house; and let there never fail to be in the house of Joab one who has a discharge or is a leper, who leans on a staff or falls by the sword, or who lacks bread."

Then Uzziah became furious; and he [had] a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the LORD, beside the incense altar.

King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He dwelt in an isolated house, because he was a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. Then Jotham his son [was] over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

So Uzziah rested with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of burial which [belonged] to the kings, for they said, "He is a leper." Then Jotham his son reigned in his place.

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
