And it happened one day that he came there, and he turned in to the upper room and lay down there.

And the child grew. Now it happened one day that he went out to his father, to the reapers.

Then he said to Gehazi his servant, "Call this Shunammite woman." When he had called her, she stood before him.

And their territory went to Jezreel, and [included] Chesulloth, Shunem,

Then the Philistines gathered together, and came and encamped at Shunem. So Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped at Gilboa.

So they sought for a lovely young woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king.

Now Barzillai was a very aged man, eighty years old. And he had provided the king with supplies while he stayed at Mahanaim, for he [was] a very rich man.

Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East.

Great men are not [always] wise, Nor do the aged [always] understand justice.

"For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.

But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

And the old man said, "Peace [be] with you! However, [let] all your needs [be] my responsibility; only do not spend the night in the open square."

With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, With her flattering lips she seduced him.

"Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.

But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them.

And when she and her household were baptized, she begged [us,] saying, "If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay." So she persuaded us.
