Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to follow the LORD and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all [his] heart and all [his] soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant.

"When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.

Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, "[Long] live King Solomon!"

And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth [seemed to] split with their sound.

Moreover those who were near to them, from as far away as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, were bringing food on donkeys and camels, on mules and oxen -- provisions of flour and cakes of figs and cakes of raisins, wine and oil and oxen and sheep abundantly, for [there was] joy in Israel.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked [man] rules, the people groan.

Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen,

Then a voice came from the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!"

"Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."

But Jehosheba, the daughter of King Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him away from among the king's sons [who were] being murdered; and they hid him and his nurse in the bedroom, from Athaliah, so that he was not killed.

Then Joram turned around and fled, and said to Ahaziah, "Treachery, Ahaziah!"

Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, "[Is that] you, O troubler of Israel?"

And he answered, "I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father's house [have,] in that you have forsaken the commandments of the LORD and have followed the Baals.
