Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, "Which way did the spirit from the LORD go from me to speak to you?"

And Micaiah said, "Indeed you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!"

The Lord GOD has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away.

I gave My back to those who struck [Me,] And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

Let him give [his] cheek to the one who strikes him, [And] be full of reproach.

Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops; He has laid siege against us; They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.

Then they struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, they worshiped Him.

And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him.

" If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before [it hated] you.

"Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

And the high priest Ananias commanded those who stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke off the prophet Jeremiah's neck and broke it.

And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, "Thus says the LORD: 'Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years.' " And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

"The LORD has made you priest instead of Jehoiada the priest, so that there should be officers [in] the house of the LORD over every man [who] is demented and considers himself a prophet, that you should put him in prison and in the stocks.

Now therefore, why have you not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth who makes himself a prophet to you?

saying, "Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?"

"He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him.

"He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.' "
