He also brought into the house of the LORD the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which he himself had dedicated: silver and gold and utensils.

And he took away the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king's house; he took away everything. He also took away all the gold shields which Solomon had made.

And Jehoash king of Judah took all the sacred things that his fathers, Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own sacred things, and all the gold found in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and in the king's house, and sent [them] to Hazael king of Syria. Then he went away from Jerusalem.

So Hezekiah gave [him] all the silver that was found in the house of the LORD and in the treasuries of the king's house.

At that time Hezekiah stripped [the gold from] the doors of the temple of the LORD, and [from] the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.

He also brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated and that he himself had dedicated: silver and gold and utensils.

Then Asa brought silver and gold from the treasuries of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent to Ben-Hadad king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

So Ben-Hadad heeded King Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel. They attacked Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the storage cities of Naphtali.

Then King Asa took all Judah, and they carried away the stones and timber of Ramah, which Baasha had used for building; and with them he built Geba and Mizpah.

Now Ben-Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his forces together; thirty-two kings [were] with him, with horses and chariots. And he went up and besieged Samaria, and made war against it.

'Your silver and your gold [are] mine; your loveliest wives and children are mine.' "

Then the messengers came back and said, "Thus speaks Ben-Hadad, saying, 'Indeed I have sent to you, saying, "You shall deliver to me your silver and your gold, your wives and your children";

Then Elisha went to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here."

So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, of every good thing of Damascus, forty camel-loads; and he came and stood before him, and said, "Your son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?' "

Then he set his countenance in a stare until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept.

So Hazael said, "But what [is] your servant -- a dog, that he should do this gross thing?" And Elisha answered, "The LORD has shown me that you [will become] king over Syria."

But it happened on the next day that he took a thick cloth and dipped [it] in water, and spread [it] over his face so that he died; and Hazael reigned in his place.

And God raised up [another] adversary against him, Rezon the son of Eliadah, who had fled from his lord, Hadadezer king of Zobah.

So he gathered men to him and became captain over a band [of raiders,] when David killed those [of Zobah.] And they went to Damascus and dwelt there, and reigned in Damascus.

He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which [is] north of Damascus.

But Abram said, "Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house [is] Eliezer of Damascus?"

"I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, And it shall consume the palaces of Ben-Hadad."

But I will send a fire into the house of Hazael, Which shall devour the palaces of Ben-Hadad.
