"And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant." They said, "Do as you have said."

Then Manoah said to the Angel of the LORD, "Please let us detain You, and we will prepare a young goat for You."

So he brought him into his house, and gave fodder to the donkeys. And they washed their feet, and ate and drank.

Then Saul said to his servant, "But look, [if] we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread in our vessels is all gone, and [there is] no present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?"

And the servant answered Saul again and said, "Look, I have here at hand one fourth of a shekel of silver. I will give [that] to the man of God, to tell us our way."

And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, "Indeed, now I know that [there is] no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant."

Now while Jeremiah had not yet gone back, [Nebuzaradan said,] "Go back to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people. Or go wherever it seems convenient for you to go." So the captain of the guard gave him rations and a gift and let him go.
