"I will come upon him while he [is] weary and weak, and make him afraid. And all the people who [are] with him will flee, and I will strike only the king.

Then the people of the land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building,

For they all [were trying to] make us afraid, saying, "Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done." Now therefore, [O God,] strengthen my hands.

Therefore all hands will be limp, Every man's heart will melt,

Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees.

We have heard the report of it; Our hands grow feeble. Anguish has taken hold of us, Pain as of a woman in labor.

"The king of Babylon has heard the report about them, And his hands grow feeble; Anguish has taken hold of him, Pangs as of a woman in childbirth.

In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: "Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak.

saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."

When Herod the king heard [this,] he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
