" He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death.

and said to the judges, "Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who [is] with you in the judgment.

"Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do [it,] for [there is] no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes."

'All the horns of the wicked I will also cut off, [But] the horns of the righteous shall be exalted."

Early I will destroy all the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all the evildoers from the city of the LORD.

A king who sits on the throne of judgment Scatters all evil with his eyes.

Take away the wicked from before the king, And his throne will be established in righteousness.

Now David said, "Solomon my son [is] young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD [must be] exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it." So David made abundant preparations before his death.

"and say to him: 'Take heed, and be quiet; do not fear or be fainthearted for these two stubs of smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin and Syria, and the son of Remaliah.

And he shed the blood of war in peacetime, and put the blood of war on his belt that [was] around his waist, and on his sandals that [were] on his feet.

"Therefore do according to your wisdom, and do not let his gray hair go down to the grave in peace.

"Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab and upon the head of his descendants forever. But upon David and his descendants, upon his house and his throne, there shall be peace forever from the LORD."

So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and struck and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

His trouble shall return upon his own head, And his violent dealing shall come down on his own crown.

Give them according to their deeds, And according to the wickedness of their endeavors; Give them according to the work of their hands; Render to them what they deserve.

Also to You, O Lord, [belongs] mercy; For You render to each one according to his work.
