"See, I will wait in the plains of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me."

Now it came to pass, after they had departed, that they came up out of the well and went and told King David, and said to David, "Arise and cross over the water quickly. For thus has Ahithophel advised against you."

So David and all the people who [were] with him arose and crossed over the Jordan. By morning light not one of them was left who had not gone over the Jordan.

So David said to all his servants who [were] with him at Jerusalem, "Arise, and let us flee; or we shall not escape from Absalom. Make haste to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring disaster upon us, and strike the city with the edge of the sword."

"See, I will wait in the plains of the wilderness until word comes from you to inform me."

And Jonathan cried out after the lad, "Make haste, hurry, do not delay!" So Jonathan's lad gathered up the arrows and came back to his master.

I would hasten my escape From the windy storm [and] tempest."

Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids.

Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand [of the hunter,] And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

"And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.

"I [am among the] peaceable [and] faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why would you swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?"

And Joab answered and said, "Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy!

Let them not say in their hearts, "Ah, so we would have it!" Let them not say, "We have swallowed him up."

My enemies would hound [me] all day, For [there are] many who fight against me, O Most High.

He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. Selah God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."

For we who are in [this] tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
