Now the Angel of the LORD found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur.

The Angel of the LORD said to her, "Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand."

And the Angel of the LORD said to her: "Behold, you [are] with child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the LORD has heard your affliction.

Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, "Have I also here seen Him who sees me?"

"Behold, I [am] with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you."

"Then the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream, saying, 'Jacob.' And I said, 'Here I am.'

'I [am] the God of Bethel, where you anointed the pillar [and] where you made a vow to Me. Now arise, get out of this land, and return to the land of your family.' "

And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush [was] not consumed.

So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am."

Moreover He said, "I [am] the God of your father -- the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

" Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

"Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name [is] in Him.

Then the Angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said: "I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said, 'I will never break My covenant with you.

"Therefore I also said, 'I will not drive them out before you; but they shall be [thorns] in your side, and their gods shall be a snare to you.' "

Then the Angel of the LORD put out the end of the staff that [was] in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the LORD departed out of his sight.

Then the LORD said to him, "Peace [be] with you; do not fear, you shall not die."

When the Angel of the LORD appeared no more to Manoah and his wife, then Manoah knew that He [was] the Angel of the LORD.

And Manoah said to his wife, "We shall surely die, because we have seen God!"

The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.

The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.

[As for] our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts [is] His name, The Holy One of Israel.

In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore them and carried them All the days of old.

Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him. He found Him [in] Bethel, And there He spoke to us --

That is, the LORD God of hosts. The LORD [is] His memorable name.

"Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts.

"And when forty years had passed, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai.

"[saying,] 'I [am] the God of your fathers -- the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' And Moses trembled and dared not look.

"I have surely seen the oppression of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their groaning and have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt." '

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;

My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear [of it] and be glad.

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

"I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

Not only [that,] but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve [me] for His heavenly kingdom. To Him [be] glory forever and ever. Amen!

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works.

"And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, [are] mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

And He said, "Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed."

"Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you.

"if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Why should You be like a man astonished, Like a mighty one [who] cannot save? Yet You, O LORD, [are] in our midst, And we are called by Your name; Do not leave us!

That they may possess the remnant of Edom, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name," Says the LORD who does this thing.

So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the LORD who does all these things.'

So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that [it was] good.

And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

all who were numbered were six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

These [are] the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them [were] fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

These [are] the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those who were numbered of them: thirty-two thousand five hundred. These [are] the sons of Joseph according to their families.

"Joseph [is] a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a well; His branches run over the wall.

But the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.

The sons of Joseph according to their families, by Manasseh and Ephraim, [were:]

These [are] the sons of Gilead: [of] Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;

[of] Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; [of] Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.

These [are] the families of Manasseh; and those who were numbered of them [were] fifty-two thousand seven hundred.

And these [are] the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.

His glory [is like] a firstborn bull, And his horns [like] the horns of the wild ox; Together with them He shall push the peoples To the ends of the earth; They [are] the ten thousands of Ephraim, And they [are] the thousands of Manasseh."

And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph -- to Ephraim and Manasseh -- saying, "You [are] a great people and have great power; you shall not have [only] one lot,
