All these [are] the twelve tribes of Israel, and this [is] what their father spoke to them. And he blessed them; he blessed each one according to his own blessing.

Now this [is] the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, [leaning] on the top of his staff.

After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters.

And Enoch walked with God; and he [was] not, for God took him.

This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I [am] Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.

Then she quickly emptied her pitcher into the trough, ran back to the well to draw [water,] and drew for all his camels.

And Solomon said: "You have shown great mercy to Your servant David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as [it is] this day.

I have set the LORD always before me; Because [He is] at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This [is] the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.

"They shall spread them before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and which they have served and after which they have walked, which they have sought and which they have worshiped. They shall not be gathered nor buried; they shall be like refuse on the face of the earth.

And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me, and keep me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,

"And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You."

A Psalm of David. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.

Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.

Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Who satisfies your mouth with good [things,] [So that] your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Nothing [is] better for a man [than] that he should eat and drink, and [that] his soul should enjoy good in his labor. This also, I saw, was from the hand of God.

For who can eat, or who can have enjoyment, more than I?

The sleep of a laboring man [is] sweet, Whether he eats little or much; But the abundance of the rich will not permit him to sleep.

Here is what I have seen: [It is] good and fitting [for one] to eat and drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it [is] his heritage.

All the labor of man [is] for his mouth, And yet the soul is not satisfied.

He will dwell on high; His place of defense [will be] the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water [will be] sure.

" Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

"Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

"and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

For the love of money is a root of all [kinds of] evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
