And David said to Uriah, "Go down to your house and wash your feet." So Uriah departed from the king's house, and a gift [of food] from the king followed him.

He gave to all of them, to each man, changes of garments; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred [pieces] of silver and five changes of garments.

But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the LORD had closed her womb.

Now Samuel took Saul and his servant and brought them into the hall, and had them sit in the place of honor among those who were invited; there [were] about thirty persons.

So the cook took up the thigh with its upper part and set [it] before Saul. And [Samuel] said, "Here it is, what was kept back. [It] was set apart for you. Eat; for until this time it has been kept for you, since I said I invited the people." So Saul ate with Samuel that day.

Give strong drink to him who is perishing, And wine to those who are bitter of heart.

Go, eat your bread with joy, And drink your wine with a merry heart; For God has already accepted your works.

A feast is made for laughter, And wine makes merry; But money answers everything.

I have come to my garden, my sister, [my] spouse; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk. (TO HIS FRIENDS) Eat, O friends! Drink, yes, drink deeply, O beloved ones! THE SHULAMITE

For indeed I am raising up the Chaldeans, A bitter and hasty nation Which marches through the breadth of the earth, To possess dwelling places [that are] not theirs.

"The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her children."

And he said to him, "Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the [guests] have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!"
