Then the chief butler spoke to Pharaoh, saying: "I remember my faults this day.

"But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.

So David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD." And Nathan said to David, "The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.

So she said to Elijah, "What have I to do with you, O man of God? Have you come to me to bring my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?"

Then he looks at men and says, 'I have sinned, and perverted [what was] right, And it did not profit me.'

He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit, And his life shall see the light.

" For has [anyone] said to God, 'I have borne [chastening;] I will offend no more;

Teach me [what] I do not see; If I have done iniquity, I will do no more'?

And if [they are] bound in fetters, Held in the cords of affliction,

Then He tells them their work and their transgressions -- That they have acted defiantly.

I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me."

Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

saying, "I have sinned by betraying innocent blood." And they said, "What [is that] to us? You see [to it!"]

"where 'Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.'

And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds.

So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph [of] his tunic, the tunic of [many] colors that [was] on him.

And they sat down to eat a meal. Then they lifted their eyes and looked, and there was a company of Ishmaelites, coming from Gilead with their camels, bearing spices, balm, and myrrh, on their way to carry [them] down to Egypt.

"Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he [is] our brother [and] our flesh." And his brothers listened.

And Adoni-Bezek said, "Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather [scraps] under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me." Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be heard.

Deliver [those who] are drawn toward death, And hold back [those] stumbling to the slaughter.

If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider [it?] He who keeps your soul, does He [not] know [it?] And will He [not] render to [each] man according to his deeds?

A man burdened with bloodshed will flee into a pit; Let no one help him.

Have you not brought this on yourself, In that you have forsaken the LORD your God When He led you in the way?

Your own wickedness will correct you, And your backslidings will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that [it is] an evil and bitter [thing] That you have forsaken the LORD your God, And the fear of Me [is] not in you," Says the Lord GOD of hosts.

"Your ways and your doings Have procured these [things] for you. This [is] your wickedness, Because it is bitter, Because it reaches to your heart."

" Therefore thus says the LORD: 'You have not obeyed Me in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every one to his neighbor. Behold, I proclaim liberty to you,' says the LORD -- 'to the sword, to pestilence, and to famine! And I will deliver you to trouble among all the kingdoms of the earth.

"For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you.

"Then they will call on me, but I will not answer; They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.
