Now Joseph had a dream, and he told [it] to his brothers; and they hated him even more.

And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter [in mind.]

Now when they saw him afar off, even before he came near them, they conspired against him to kill him.

"Come therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit; and we shall say, 'Some wild beast has devoured him.' We shall see what will become of his dreams!"

And Reuben said to them, "Shed no blood, [but] cast him into this pit which [is] in the wilderness, and do not lay a hand on him" -- that he might deliver him out of their hands, and bring him back to his father.

Then they took him and cast him into a pit. And the pit [was] empty; [there was] no water in it.

but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, "The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob."

The archers have bitterly grieved him, Shot [at him] and hated him.

So he sent and brought him in. Now he [was] ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this [is] the one!"

Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab's anger was aroused against David, and he said, "Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle."

But my enemies [are] vigorous, [and] they are strong; And those who hate me wrongfully have multiplied.

Those who hate me without a cause Are more than the hairs of my head; They are mighty who would destroy me, [Being] my enemies wrongfully; Though I have stolen nothing, I [still] must restore [it.]

His brothers therefore said to Him, "Depart from here and go into Judea, that Your disciples also may see the works that You are doing.

For even His brothers did not believe in Him.

" If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before [it hated] you.

"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor [is] he who does not love his brother.

not as Cain [who] was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.

If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
