"And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

"I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

"But a hireling, [he who is] not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.

"As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw [them,] he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground,

Now Joseph [was] governor over the land; and it was he who sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brothers came and bowed down before him with [their] faces to the earth.

And when Joseph came home, they brought him the present which [was] in their hand into the house, and bowed down before him to the earth.

So do this, my son, and deliver yourself; For you have come into the hand of your friend: Go and humble yourself; Plead with your friend.

If the spirit of the ruler rises against you, Do not leave your post; For conciliation pacifies great offenses.

"For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

[Those who were] full have hired themselves out for bread, And the hungry have ceased [to hunger.] Even the barren has borne seven, And she who has many children has become feeble.
