Now Laban had gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel had stolen the household idols that were her father's.

'For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I [am] the LORD.

For the Egyptians were burying all [their] firstborn, whom the LORD had killed among them. Also on their gods the LORD had executed judgments.

But Joash said to all who stood against him, "Would you plead for Baal? Would you save him? Let the one who would plead for him be put to death by morning! If he [is] a god, let him plead for himself, because his altar has been torn down!"

So he said, "You have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and you have gone away. Now what more do I have? How can you say to me, 'What ails you?' "

When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the temple of Dagon and set it by Dagon.

And when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands [were] broken off on the threshold; only Dagon's torso was left of it.

But the hand of the LORD was heavy on the people of Ashdod, and He ravaged them and struck them with tumors, [both] Ashdod and its territory.

And they left their images there, and David and his men carried them away.

"and have cast their gods into the fire; for they [were] not gods, but the work of men's hands -- wood and stone. Therefore they have destroyed them.

Bel bows down, Nebo stoops; Their idols were on the beasts and on the cattle. Your carriages [were] heavily loaded, A burden to the weary [beast.]

They stoop, they bow down together; They could not deliver the burden, But have themselves gone into captivity.

Thus you shall say to them: "The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens."

"I will kindle a fire in the houses of the gods of Egypt, and he shall burn them and carry them away captive. And he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd puts on his garment, and he shall go out from there in peace.
