When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I [am] Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.

Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying:

"No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

"blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which [is] on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

"In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

Also God said to him: "I [am] God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.

"And may God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may release your other brother and Benjamin. If I am bereaved, I am bereaved!"

Then Jacob said to Joseph: "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,

"I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but [by] My name LORD I was not known to them.

A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

"I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the LORD Almighty."

But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.

"And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, [then] your descendants also could be numbered.

And they blessed Rebekah and said to her: "Our sister, [may] you [become] [The mother of] thousands of ten thousands; And may your descendants possess The gates of those who hate them."

Behold, children [are] a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb [is] a reward.

Happy [is] the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

A Song of Ascents. Blessed [is] every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.

Your wife [shall be] like a fruitful vine In the very heart of your house, Your children like olive plants All around your table.

The LORD bless you out of Zion, And may you see the good of Jerusalem All the days of your life.
