But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

Then Manoah said to the Angel of the LORD, "Please let us detain You, and we will prepare a young goat for You."

And the Angel of the LORD said to Manoah, "Though you detain Me, I will not eat your food. But if you offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD." (For Manoah did not know He [was] the Angel of the LORD.)

Who lie on beds of ivory, Stretch out on your couches, Eat lambs from the flock And calves from the midst of the stall;

"But cursed [be] the deceiver Who has in his flock a male, And takes a vow, But sacrifices to the Lord what is blemished -- For I [am] a great King," Says the LORD of hosts, "And My name [is to be] feared among the nations.

"Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle [are] killed, and all things [are] ready. Come to the wedding." '

'And bring the fatted calf here and kill [it,] and let us eat and be merry;

"And he said to him, 'Your brother has come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed the fatted calf.'

'But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.'
