Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where [is] Abel your brother?" He said, "I do not know. [Am] I my brother's keeper?"

"Please say you [are] my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you."

But he said to her, "You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes [them] will have mercy.

Then the servant girl who kept the door said to Peter, "You are not also [one] of this Man's disciples, are you?" He said, "I am not."

Now Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. Therefore they said to him, "You are not also [one] of His disciples, are you?" He denied [it] and said, "I am not!"

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds,

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Would not God search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.

The truthful lip shall be established forever, But a lying tongue [is] but for a moment.

But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?

and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
