And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said to him, Why should he be killed? What has he done?

And Ahimelech answered the king and said, And who among all your servants is as faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law, who goes at your bidding, and is honorable in all your house?

If you refrain from delivering those being led away to death, those about to die;

if you say, Behold, we did not know it; does not He who ponders the heart consider it? And the Keeper of your soul, does He not know it? And shall He not repay to a man according to his deeds?

Open your mouth for the mute, for the judgment of all those sentenced to destruction.

Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the case of the poor and needy.

Should evil be repaid for good? For they have dug a pit for my life. Remember that I stood before You to speak good for them, to turn away Your wrath from them.

If a man sins against man, God will judge him. But if a man sins against Jehovah, who shall intercede for him? Nevertheless they did not heed the voice of their father, because Jehovah desired to kill them.

Whoever sheds man's blood, by man his blood shall be shed; for in the image of God He made man.

And Reuben answered them, saying, Did I not speak to you, saying, Do not sin against the boy; and you would not listen? Therefore behold, his blood is now required of us.

If anyone sins against his neighbor, and has been required to swear an oath, and has come with an oath before Your altar in this house,

But when you sin in this way against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

They rewarded me evil for good, to the bereavement of my soul.

In return for my love they are my adversaries, but I am in prayer.

Thus they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Whoever rewards evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
