And Saul said to him, Lad, whose son are you? And David answered, I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.

And David came to Saul and stood before him. And he loved him greatly, and he became his armorbearer.

And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Please let David stand before me, for he has found favor in my eyes.
