Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

So the king sent to summon Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests who were at Nob. And they all came to the king.

And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory has departed from Israel! because the ark of God had been taken and because of her father-in-law and her husband.

Did I not choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon My altar, to burn incense, and to bear the ephod before Me? And did I not give to the house of your father all the offerings by fire of the children of Israel?

And you shall make two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on the edge of it, on the inner side of the ephod.

And they shall bind the breastplate by means of its rings to the rings of the ephod, with a violet cord, so that it is above the intricately woven band of the ephod, and so that the breastplate does not come loose from the ephod.

And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim, and they shall be over Aaron's heart when he goes in before Jehovah. Thus Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before Jehovah continually.

There shall be an opening for his head in the middle of it; it shall have an edge of woven work all around its opening, like the opening in a coat of mail, so that it does not tear.
