And the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of Jehovah. They forgot Jehovah their God, and served the Baals and groves.

Therefore the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan- Rishathaim eight years.

So the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel; and He sold them into the hands of the Philistines and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.

then I also will walk contrary to you in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.

And behold, you have risen up in your fathers' place, a brood of sinful men, to add still more to the burning anger of Jehovah against Israel.

Jehovah will send upon you cursing, turmoil, and rebuke in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings in which you have forsaken Me.

If you do not take heed to do all the Words of this Law that are written in this book, to fear this glorious and awesome name, JEHOVAH GOD,

and so it not happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he has blessed himself in his heart, thinking, I shall have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart; and thus to snatch away the watered with the thirsty.

Jehovah will not consent to forgive him; for then the anger of Jehovah and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and every curse that is written in this book shall lie down upon him, and Jehovah shall blot out his name from under the heavens.

And My anger will burn against them in that day, and I shall forsake them, and I will hide My face from them, and they shall be devoured. And many evils and troubles shall befall them, so that they will say in that day, Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?

And I will conceal to hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they have done, in that they have turned to other gods.

But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, to make the wrath of Jehovah swell up against His people, till there was no healing.

Therefore the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against His people, so that He abhorred His own inheritance.

Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were humbled under their hand.

And Jehovah rejected all the seed of Israel, afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of plunderers, until He had cast them away from before His face.

And in those times there was no peace to the one going out, nor to the one coming in, but great turmoil was on all the inhabitants of the lands.

Therefore the anger of Jehovah burned against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan- Rishathaim eight years.

And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. The commander of his army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth Hagoyim.

You sell Your people for nothing, and have not increased wealth by their price.

Thus says Jehovah, Where is your mother's certificate of divorce, whom I have put away? Or to which of My creditors have I sold you? Behold, you have been sold for your iniquities, and your mother has been put away for your sins.

Thus Jehovah was with Judah. And they dispossessed the mountains, but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the lowland, because they had chariots of iron.

And the Amorites squeezed the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not allow them to come down to the valley;

They shall stumble over one another, as it were before a sword, when no one is pursuing; and you shall have no power to stand before your enemies.

How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and Jehovah had delivered them up?

Therefore the sons of Israel were not able to stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they are accursed. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you.

Get up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, because thus says Jehovah the God of Israel: There is a devoted thing in your midst, O Israel; you are not able to stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted thing from among you.

But You have cast us off and put us to shame, and You do not go forth with our armies.

You make us turn back from the enemy; and those who hate us have plundered for themselves.

For though you had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans who fight against you, and there remained only wounded men among them, they would rise up, each man in his tent, and burn this city with fire.
