Then he said to me, The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.

The cords of death have surrounded me, and the floods of the wicked made me afraid.

who stills the noise of the sea, the roar of their waves, and the tumult of the peoples.

The streams have lifted up, O Jehovah, the streams have lifted up their sound; the streams lift up their waves.

Jehovah on high is mightier than the sound of many waters, than the mighty breakers of the sea.

therefore behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the River, strong and abundant, even the king of Assyria and all his glory; and he shall come up over all his channels and go over all his banks.

Behold, the Lord is a mighty and strong one, like a hailstorm, a destroying storm; like a flood of mighty waters overflowing, He casts down to the earth with the hand.

So shall they fear the name of Jehovah from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of Jehovah shall drive him out.
