He who produces sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this, the Son of God was made known, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and it is not his nature to sin, because he has been born of God.

For He who said, Do not commit adultery, also said, Do not murder. Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law.

All unrighteousness is sin, and there is sin not unto death.

What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? Let it not be! On the contrary, I would not have understood sin except through the Law. For I would not have known lust unless the Law had said, You shall not covet.

I was alive once apart from the Law, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.

For sin, taking occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.

Has then that which is good become death to me? Let it not be! But sin, that it might appear to be sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.
