Brethren, I do not write a new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the Word which you heard from the beginning.

I write to you, fathers, because you have known Him from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome evil. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.

I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome evil.

I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that not any lie is of the truth.

And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from every sin.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Blessed is the man to whom Jehovah does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

And seeing their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you.

And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, Who is this who even forgives sins?

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under Heaven given among men that is required for us to be saved.

To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, everyone believing into Him will receive remission of sins.

Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this One is preached to you the remission of sins;

just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God accounts righteousness apart from works:

Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the remission of sins, according to the riches of His grace

in whom we have redemption through His blood, the remission of sins.

Because of Your great name, O Jehovah, pardon my iniquity; for it is great.

Nevertheless He delivered them for His name's sake, that He might make His mighty power known.

O Jehovah, though our iniquities testify against us, work for Your name's sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.
