Who is the man that desires life, and loves days, that he may see good?

Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

The face of Jehovah is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

For these are not empty words to you, for it is your life; and by this Word you shall prolong your days in the land where you are crossing over the Jordan to possess.

So Satan answered Jehovah and said, Skin for skin! Yea, all that a man has he will give for his soul.

for they shall add length of days and long life and peace to you.

She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her, and happy is everyone who holds fast to her.

for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

For whoever finds me finds life, and shall obtain favor from Jehovah.

So He said to him, Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel's will save it.

He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it unto eternal life.

O remember that my life is a breath; my eye will never return to see good.

The eye of him who sees me shall watch me no more; while your eyes are upon me, I am not.

Now my days are swifter than a runner; they flee away, they see no good.

He has redeemed my soul from passing over to the Pit, and my life shall see the light.

I would have fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah in the land of the living.

But he shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.

that I may see the good of Your elect, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, that I may glory with Your inheritance.

I sought in my heart to gratify my flesh with wine, while leading my heart with wisdom; and to lay hold on folly, until I might find out what was good for the sons of men to do under the heavens all the days of their life.

But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;

for truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but beguiles his own heart, this one's religion is vain.

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

Behold, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body.

Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. Behold, how large a forest a little fire kindles.

For every kind of beast and bird, and of creeping thing and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.

With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the image of God.

Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,

Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth;

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit.

And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without blemish before the throne of God.
