But let him ask in faith, doubting nothing, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;

For what is the hope of the hypocrite when he is cut off, when God draws out his soul?

Will he delight in the Almighty? Will he always call upon God?

There they cry out, but He does not answer, because of the arrogance of evil men.

They cried out for help, but there was no one to deliver; even to Jehovah, but He did not answer them.

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.

Surely God has heard; He has given attention to the voice of my prayer.

Then they shall call upon me, and I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.

Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

And when you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you. Even though you multiply prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

Wash yourselves, purify yourselves. Put away the evil of your doings from My eyes; stop doing evil.

Therefore Jehovah says this: Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry to Me, I will not listen to them.

Therefore, do not pray for this people, nor lift up a cry or prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry out to Me because of their trouble.

When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and grain offering, I will not accept them. But I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

Then they shall cry out to Jehovah, but He will not answer them. He will even hide His face from them at that time, because they have done evil in their doings.

Therefore it has come to pass that, just as He called, and they would not hear; so they called, and I did not hear, says Jehovah of Hosts.

But Jesus answered and said, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with? They said to Him, We are able.

But Jesus said to them, You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and be immersed with the immersion that I am immersed with?

And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal living.

But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.

He also said to His disciples: There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods.

So he called him and said to him, What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.

Where do wars and fightings come from among you? Do they not come from your lusts that war in your members?
