that you may fear Jehovah your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I am commanding you, you and your sons and your grandsons, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged.

Only take heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, that you not forget the things your eyes have seen, and that they not depart from your heart all the days of your life; and teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

The day you stood before Jehovah your God in Horeb, Jehovah said to me, Gather the people to Me, and I will make them hear My Words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.

You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his house after him, that they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice, that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken to him.

And it shall be, when your children say to you, What do you mean by this service?

that you shall say, It is the Passover sacrifice of Jehovah, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when He struck Egypt and delivered our houses. So the people bowed down and prostrated themselves.

And it shall be, when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What is this? that you shall say to him, By strength of hand Jehovah brought us out of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

And it came to pass, when Pharaoh was stubborn about letting us go, that Jehovah killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of beast. Therefore I sacrifice unto Jehovah every male that opens the womb, but every firstborn of my sons I redeem.

We will not hide them from their children, recounting to the following generation the praises of Jehovah, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done.

that the following generation might know them, the children who would be born, that they might arise and recount them to their children,

And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord.

And behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, Jehovah be with you! And they answered him, Jehovah bless you!

May Jehovah reward your work, and full wages be given you by Jehovah the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.

And all the people who were at the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. Jehovah make the woman who is coming into your house like Rachel and Leah, the two who built the house of Israel; and may you prosper in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem.

The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, and his tongue talks of justice.

I have preached righteousness in the great assembly; lo, I have not restrained My lips, O Jehovah, You know.

I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not hidden Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly.

I will speak of Your Testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.

Neither let those who pass by them say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; we bless you in the name of Jehovah.

When you go, it shall lead you; when you sleep, it shall watch over you; and when you awake, it will speak with you.

The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of heart.

The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.

The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but the heart of the fool is not so.

Then those who feared Jehovah spoke together, each man to his neighbor. And Jehovah gave attention and heard. And a Book of Remembrance was written before Him for those who feared Jehovah, and for those who thought on His name.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.

A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for the business of building up, that it may impart grace to the hearers.

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
