And you said, Behold, Jehovah our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire. We have seen this day that God speaks with man, yet he lives.

For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

Has any people ever heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and lived?

Out of the heavens He has caused you to hear His voice, to instruct you; on earth He has shown you His great fire, and you have heard His Words out of the midst of the fire.

And since then there has not arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom Jehovah knew face to face,

And Jehovah said to Moses, Behold, I am coming to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever. And Moses reported the words of the people unto Jehovah.

And Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because Jehovah had descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

And when the sound of the shofar continued its sound and became exceedingly loud, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice.

And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the sound of the shofar, and the smoking mountain; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance.

And Moses said to the people, Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, that you not sin.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: You have seen that I have spoken with you from the heavens.

And Jehovah spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, and his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tent.

I speak with him mouth to mouth, even by appearance, and not in riddles; and he looks upon the form of Jehovah. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?
