From Aroer, which is beside the River Arnon, and from the city that is in the valley, as far as Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us; Jehovah our God delivered up all before us.

Moses also gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh; it was for the half-tribe of the sons of Manasseh according to their families:

Their territory was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair which are in Bashan, sixty cities;

half of Gilead, and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were for the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh, for half of the sons of Machir according to their families.

These are what Moses had distributed as an inheritance in the plains of Moab on the other side of the Jordan, from Jericho eastward.

But to the tribe of Levi Moses had given no inheritance; Jehovah the God of Israel, was their inheritance, as He had spoken to them.
