For Jehovah your God is a consuming fire, a jealous Mighty God.

I call the heavens and the earth to witness against you this day, that you shall quickly die and perish from off the land which you are crossing over the Jordan to possess; you shall not prolong your days in it, but shall be destroyed to annihilation.

And Jehovah gave me the two tablets of stone written with the finger of God, and on them were all the words which Jehovah had spoken to you on the mountain from the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

And Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because Jehovah had descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

And when the sound of the shofar continued its sound and became exceedingly loud, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice.

And all the people saw the thunders, the lightning flashes, the sound of the shofar, and the smoking mountain; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance.

And they said unto Moses, You speak with us, and we will listen; but let not God speak with us, that we not die.

And He did not let loose His hand against the nobles of the children of Israel. And they saw God, and they ate and drank.

But He said, You are not able to see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.

And Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of Jehovah. And Gideon said, Alas, O Lord Jehovah! For I have seen the Angel of Jehovah face to face.
