He who robs his father or his mother and says, It is no transgression, is a companion to a man who destroys.

There is a generation that curses their father, and does not bless their mother.

The eye that mocks his father and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

Give heed, O heavens, and hear, O earth! For Jehovah has spoken: I have nourished and brought up children, but they have rebelled against Me.

Cursed is the one who treats his father or his mother with contempt. And all the people shall say, Amen!

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which Jehovah your God is giving you.

And he who strikes his father or his mother shall be executed to death.

And he who curses his father or his mother shall be executed to death.

Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and keep My Sabbaths: I am Jehovah your God.

The daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by committing harlotry, she profanes her father. She shall be burned with fire.

A fool despises his father's instruction, but he who restrains himself because of reproof is prudent.

Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in deep darkness.

In you they have made light of father and mother; in your midst they have oppressed the sojourner; in you they have mistreated the orphan and the widow.

You have come to know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so Jehovah your God chastens you.

I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the strokes of the sons of men.

He who withholds the rod hates his son, but he who loves him chastens him promptly.

Chasten your son while there is hope, and let not your soul hold back, lest he be put to death.

Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Do not withhold correction from a lad, for if you beat him with the rod, he will not die.

You shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from Sheol.

Correct your son, and he will give you rest; yea, he shall give delight to your soul.

Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised by it.

Why will you be stricken any more? Will you rebel more and more? The whole head is sick, and the whole heart is faint.

O Jehovah, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved; You have destroyed them, but they have refused to receive correction; they have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to return.

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, like an untrained bull; draw me back, and I shall return. For You are Jehovah my God.

In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you, and you were not cleansed, you will not be cleansed of your filthiness anymore, till I have caused My fury to rest upon you.

I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you were like a firebrand plucked out of the burning; yet you have not returned to Me, declares Jehovah.

Therefore I will do this to you, O Israel: Because of this that I will do to you, prepare to meet your God, O Israel.
