When Jehovah your God brings you into the land which you are going in to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,

for as yet you have not come to the rest and the inheritance which Jehovah your God is giving to you.

But when you have crossed over the Jordan and dwelt in the land which Jehovah your God is giving you to inherit, and He has given you rest from all your enemies round about, so that you dwell in safety,

When you come into the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you, you shall not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.

And it shall be, when you come into the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you as an inheritance, and you have possessed it and dwelt in it,

And He has brought us to this place and has given us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey;

When you have come into the land of Canaan, which I am giving you as a possession, and I have put the leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession,

Remember the word which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God is giving you rest and has given you this land.

and said to him, Behold, you have become old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now appoint us a king to judge us like all the nations.

And Jehovah said to Samuel, Consent to the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, for Me to not reign over them.

And all the people said to Samuel, Pray for your servants to Jehovah your God, that we may not die; for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask for a king for ourselves.
