I say again, let no one think me to be foolish. Otherwise if not, at least receive me as being foolish, that I also may boast a little.

And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.

He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.

Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.

We therefore ought to receive such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth.

Therefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, ranting against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and prevents those who want to, putting them out of the church.

For our rejoicing is this: the testimony of our conscience, that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God, and more abundantly toward you.

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the Word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience before God.

Giving no cause of stumbling in anything, that our ministry may not be blamed.

in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in fastings,

in the Word of Truth, in the power of God, through the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

And when I was present with you, and in need, I was a burden to no one, for what I lacked, the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied. And in everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so I will keep myself.

Now the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be burdensome to you; for I do not seek what is yours, but you. For the children ought not to lay up for the parents, but the parents for the children.

But be that as it may, I did not burden you. Nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you by cunning.

And they said, You have not cheated us nor oppressed us, nor have you taken anything from any man's hand.

I have coveted no one's silver or gold or apparel.

For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple.

For our exhortation did not come from error or uncleanness, nor was it in deceit.

For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor in pretense of covetousness; God is witness.

For you yourselves know how you need to imitate our example, for we were not disorderly among you;

not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should imitate us.
