Then certain Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, What does this empty talker want to say? And others, He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign demons, because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.

Then as Paul was about to be led into the barracks, he said to the commander, May I speak to you? He replied, Do you speak Greek?

Are you not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up trouble and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?

And when they had been there many days, Festus set forth Paul's case before the king, saying: There is a certain man left a prisoner by Felix,

about whom the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, when I was in Jerusalem, asking for a judgment against him.

but had some questions against him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, who had died, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

But I have nothing certain to write to my lord concerning him. Therefore I have brought him out before you, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after the examination has taken place I may have something to write.

For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we became spectacles to all creation, both to angels and to men.

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the Word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience before God.

Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; and we are well known to God, and I also hope are well known in your consciences.

Even though I am unskilled in speech, yet not in knowledge; but have been fully exposed to you in all things.

Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not gods which are made with hands.

in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I have fulfilled the preaching of the gospel of Christ.

And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ.

And they glorified God in me.

For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our affliction which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened exceedingly, beyond strength, so that we despaired even of life.

who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us, in whom we hope that He will still deliver us,

always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

For we who live are always delivered to death because of Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

As it is written: For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we became spectacles to all creation, both to angels and to men.

I affirm, by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die throughout the day.

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of YAH.

YAH has chastened and corrected me, but He has not given me over to death.

But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
