For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.

O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from the body of this death?

Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

that the testing of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found unto praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

if indeed, being clothed, we shall not be found naked.

For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.

For this corruptible needs to put on incorruption, and this mortal needs to put on immortality.

So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory.
