Therefore I write these things being absent, that when present I should not use sharpness, according to the authority which the Lord has given me for building up and not for pulling down.

For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed;

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

Now God worked unusual works of power through the hands of Paul,

how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,

God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various works of power, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
