The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.

Moreover I call God as witness against my soul, that to spare you I came no more to Corinth.

Again, do you think that we defend ourselves to you? We speak before God in Christ. But we do all things, beloved, for your edification.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,

I tell the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing witness with me in the Holy Spirit,

(Now concerning the things which I write to you, indeed, before God, I do not lie.)

For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor in pretense of covetousness; God is witness.

You are witnesses, and God also, how holily and uprightly and blamelessly we were among you who believe;

for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle; I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying; a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

But what I do, I will also do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast.

I say again, let no one think me to be foolish. Otherwise if not, at least receive me as being foolish, that I also may boast a little.

What I speak, I speak not according to the Lord, but as it were, foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith is growing, according to our rule, being greatly enlarged to overflowing,

But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so with me; for it would be better for me to die than that anyone should make my exulting void.

For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia:

for I know your willingness, about which I exult of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has stirred up the majority.

And when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat,

And when he was minded to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, encouraging the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;

Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.

I encourage you, brethren; you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have appointed themselves to the ministry of the saints;

so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.

For from you the Word of the Lord has sounded forth, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we do not need to say anything.
