But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself, saying, You have chastised me, and I was chastised, like an untrained bull; draw me back, and I shall return. For You are Jehovah my God.

Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a delightful child? For as often as I spoke against him, I call to mind and remember him still. Therefore My heart is stirred for him; I will have mercy and compassion upon him, says Jehovah.

I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against Heaven and before you,

And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works; and if not, I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place; unless you repent.

Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works being fulfilled before God.

Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not at all know what hour I will come upon you.
