If you have run with footmen, and they wore you out, then how can you compete with horses? And if you feel secure in the land of peace, then how will you do in the swelling of the Jordan?

For then there will be great affliction, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Then if anyone says to you, Look, here is the Christ; or, There; do not believe it.

And forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil.

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon. Behold, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

And He said to them, Why do you sleep? Rise and pray, that you do not enter into temptation.

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I excel them: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.

Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;

in hardship and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness;

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenlies.

Therefore take up all the armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tried, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, oppressed;

You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering affliction and endurance.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the endurance of Job and seen the outcome brought about by the Lord; that the Lord is very kind and merciful.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

that the testing of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found unto praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brethren in the world.

Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have affliction ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Because you have kept the Word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Therefore know that Jehovah your God, He is God, the faithful Mighty God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;

Your mercy, O Jehovah, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Nevertheless in My lovingkindness I will not crush him, nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.

And righteousness shall be the waistband of His loins, and faithfulness the waistband of His heart.

O Jehovah, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name; for You have done wonders; Your counsels of old are steadfast faithfulness.

Thus says Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation loathes, the Servant of rulers: Kings shall see and arise, rulers also shall bow down, because of Jehovah who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose You.

They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness. And you shall know Jehovah.

He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil.

This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.

Let us hold fast the confession of the hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

and I intend to bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.

For the scepter of the wicked shall not rest upon the land allotted to the righteous, that the righteous not reach out their hands to iniquity.

If it is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

But I have prayed for you, that your faith does not fail; and when you have returned, strengthen your brethren.

And I give them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

I and the Father are One.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, but rather is also raised, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

As it is written: For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us, in whom we hope that He will still deliver us,

Concerning this thing I entreated the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and keep me safe for His Heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen.

who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust for the day of judgment, to be punished,

See now, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one; please let me escape there (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.

And he said to him, See, I have favored you concerning this thing also, in that I will not overthrow this city for which you have spoken.

Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.

And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you are not able, nor can those from there pass to us.

and for the rest to go, some on boards and some on parts of the ship. And so it was that they all escaped safely to land.
