(though Jesus Himself did not immerse, but His disciples),

And he commanded them to be immersed in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

I will deliver you from the Jewish people, as well as from the Gentiles, to whom I now send you,

to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the Testimony of God.

And my speech and my preaching were not with enticing words of human wisdom, but in proof of the Spirit and of power,

These things we also speak, not in words which human wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the Word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience before God.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God for pulling down strongholds,

For his letters, they say, are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
